Electric Bicycle Customer Testimonials

This customer purchased a Wilderness Energy kit in Oct 2003 which had the
latest improvements.

Hi Gordon

I assembled my bike yesterday and it was easier(?)then expected, even though instructions were confusing. It was actually easier to use a picture as a guide plus parts are made to assemble only one way. Biggest issue was expanding forks about half centimeter to install motor wheel.

A tip for the "DO IT YOURSELFERS" -I took the "D" handle off a shovel and used it to spread my forks, It worked great - has taper so you can spread forks gradually and uniformly to exactly what is required.

A short trip on bike was impressive - has all the speed I want (my Weight 250 lb) and has good assist for hill climbing.

Thank you for a great kit - I recommend "the Widerness kit" as an easy to assemble, fun to ride conversion. If I can assemble it anyone can!!

Thanks again for quick shipment (2 days door to door) and a quality kit.

Regards

Bob Cuthbert   Hamilton, Ontario

Thanks oddjoe:

Those electric motor kits look fascinating. Currie apparently went out of business in a family feud! I was astonished at the small size of the Cyclone's electric motor.

My 1986 Fisher Procaliber mountain bike is 18-speed, with derailleurs both front and back.

How sad!

The newer brushless approach has helped eliminate the power input bottleneck caused by brushes. Observing technological advances can indeed be interesting.

I like your bike, considering that my bikes were made somewhere between the late '70s and the early '80s.
